The Band

Erin Maynor

erin maynor

Vocalist, Erin Maynor has always had a passion for music. She began singing in a church somewhere in the "elementary years"; ever since, she has been involved in choirs & worship ministries in various ways. This is how she met John & Kerri. It wasn't until she attended a worship retreat to Williamsburg, that she realized they all shared a passion for people & ministry. Shortly after, Erin teamed up with them, a long with Christian, to lead several youth groups in worship throughout the month. The four just seemed to click.

She had written several songs, as had the others, and they began to share them at practices & then in worship. People just seemed to respond to the messages. She could see that God was using their music to reach people. When John & Kerri shared the news of the CD project, she knew it was from God. Her heart's desire is that God's will be done in Crutch Field Ministries & that through the music He gives, lives will be changed.

Erin is so excited that God has placed her in ministry with some of the best friends she's ever had and hopes of great things in the coming years (maybe one day she'll play guitar well enough to lead with it....hmmm...maybe one day) Phil1:21-22

Christian Acker

christian acker

Christian Acker, acoustic guitarist says music has always been a part of his life. “It allows me to express myself in ways that I cannot in others.

When I was 3, I broke my leg and was laid up in the hospital for a while. To cheer me up, my dad bought me my first guitar.

I formed my first band at the age of 12, east Charlotte’s own “The Moonriders”, but like all rock n roll stories go, it was short lived. For the next 7 years, we lived in Florida and my attention turned to other interests like sports. I still loved music, but I became discouraged at the idea of really pursuing it further, but God had other plans for me. At the end of my junior year in high school my family moved back to N. Carolina from and due to these circumstances it became apparent that being an athlete was not my calling in life and I started considering music once again. It became all I could think about.

It took some time for me to realize that God wanted me to give my music to Him and trust Him with it and since I decided to only play for God, my world has been turned upside down. I have been in places I thought I’d never go to. I’ve been with bands from contemporary to jazz, blues, folk & rock, appeared on public TV and performed live & as a studio musician and now I’ve been a worship leader for 7 years as well as a founding member of Crutch Field.
